Hi, I have recently installed a fresh copy of Windows 7 Ultimate 32bit on my father's PC. I have installed all of the relevant drivers for the motherboard (chipset, graphics, LAN etc) and all of the runtime programs. I downloaded Firefox and tried to set eBay and BBC as the homepages. I closed and restarted Firefox to see if it had the required effect. BBC worked fine, however eBay wouldn't load.

At first, I thought it was a problem with the eBay website, but on my PC (which is connected to the same router) it is absolutely fine. After a while, the website would load, but when you clicked on any links or the sign in button, it would refuse to load saying the connection has timed out.

The issue isn't just with eBay. It also will not load Gumtree or Preloved either. I have tried multiple other websites (30+) and each one works fine. Now I think it is some sort of setting deep down that is causing this, surely it can't be a coincidence. All three websites work on my PC. I have recently formatted my PC with 64bit Windows 7 Ultimate and I have no issues. We also have a laptop that runs 32bit Windows 7 Ultimate on the same router that has no such issues. It is just my father's PC that has this issue.

It may also be worth noting that this problem isn't just on Firefox. I have the same issue on IE and Chrome.

If you need any details, please feel free to ask and any help would be greatly appreciated.

Carl.

Hey Carl, Thank you for the details. It sound like there may be an internet setting in the OS that might have to do with security or filtering?
