my bookmarks are no longer showing in the sidebar?

I had a technical issue and used a support service to fix it. Now, i can only see my bookmarks from the bookmark menu. the sidebar no longer shows them. I just completed a refresh of FireFox and the issue is the same. How can i get them in the sidebar?

I usually use Ctrl+b to open the Bookmarks Sidebar. What happens when you try that?

There is a sidebar button you can add to the toolbar if you start up the Customize feature: Customize Firefox controls, buttons and toolbars. Not sure if that is any more/less convenient.
