Thunderbird crashes under windows 10 and windows pager

Thunderbird 38.6.0 under windows 10 (both pro x64 and home x64) with windowspager running when it is started. Setting compatibility to XP or windows 7 seems to fix for a while.

The crash report says: Frame Module Signature Source Ø 0 windowspagerapihook32bit.dll windowspagerapihook32bit.dll@0xbf31

crash ID: c78ca5ca-3a21-4062-80ba-a7c682160320

This is not very repeatable - any ideas ?
