How can I transfer my Thunderbird local folders to my gmail account?
I am in the process of moving my email activity from Tbird to gmail. I have a number of local Tbird folders that I would like to move with their contents to my new gmail account, hopefully in the gmail equivalent of Tbird folders.

Many of us use Thunderbird to manage a gmail account, so it isn't necessarily an "either-or" choice.
Set up your gmail account, using IMAP, in Thunderbird. Then you can create folders in the gmail account and then drag-and-drop messages into it in Thunderbird.
