How can I retrieve my e-mail sent and received folders after virus removal?
Turned my computer over to independent tech rep to get fixed when it acquired a virus on or about June 19, 2016. Retrieved repaired computer on June 23, 2016 with Mozilla Thunderbird in place but without copies of Sent e-mails and about one dozen folders of named received e-mails. Is there any way to retrieve these folders or are they permanently lost.

Since there is zero information about what was done and what might have happened to your Thunderbird profile, there is no point speculating whether something can be restored.
Do have a backup of your Thunderbird profile?
