Pop ups saying my iPad has a virus and will be locked in one day. Is this malware?
I was browsing porn websites and a tab opened up with a pop up saying that my iPad has a virus and will be locked in one day. The table behind this was a website saying android update required
Is this malware or will my iPad actually be locked?

Additional information: all of my downloads are from the IOS app store
I think it's difficult for a website to infect your iPad if you don't download what they're pushing.
As an extra precaution, you could scan using a program like Malwarebytes Anti-Malware for Mac:

Oops, no, that's for MacOS, not iOS. I'm not sure what software can be used to check iOS for security threats. You could search in the AppStore for that.
A lot of malicious websites use warnings like that as a way to get you to download their software, advertising it as a solution to whatever problem is supposedly detected in the first place. The fact that it thought you were on Android is a giveaway.
I'm on Mac, and years ago, I came across a website that looked to be scanning my computer, searching C:\\ drive and \Program Folders\, which I thought was odd, because those directories are not on Mac. Then what looked like a Windows XP window popped up, saying it detected viruses. I took a screenshot: http://ilias.ca/screenshots/scam-75.png For an XP user, it might be tricky, but for a Mac user, it was obvious. :)
In your case, I bet there's nothing wrong with your ipad. It's a trap.
