Reloaded email. Sent emails are missing. Is it possible to restore?

I had to reset my email. I was also running new antivirus avg at same time. when the email was reloaded the sent folder was empty. Is it possible that there is a copy saved in localapps and is it possible to restore?

If you are using an imap mail account, have you subscribed to see the server 'Sent' folder?

The AV program may have quarrantined the 'Sent' folder. Some info: http://kb.mozillazine.org/Thunderbird_:_FAQs_:_Anti-virus_Software
