I would like to say that I do not like the new version of Mozilla Firefox. I do not like the way the searches are conducted
The new update of Firefox is not easy to navigate as previous versions. When I search for a website, I often encounter a message "a web page is slowing down my search" I have a choice to "stop it or continue." I usually stop it. I do not know exactly what this message means.
I do not like the search "dots" when the web page is loading. The dot goes back and forth where previous versions had a circle the was easier to watch until the page loads.
This new version of Firefox is more like Google Chrome and I did not like Google Chrome either.
Thank you and I hope Mozilla Firefox support will look into the problems that people are having with the new update.

Please try https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/troubleshoot-firefox-issues-using-safe-mode Is the issue still there after testing ? Or Not ? If it is not it could be you need to disable all Extensions and try searching in regular mode, enable Extensions till you have a issue. Do not use the one that was a problem.
It could be your Profile is corrupt and need to make a new one and test it : https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/profile-manager-create-and-remove-firefox-profiles
If the above does not work try https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/upgrade-graphics-drivers-use-hardware-acceleration TRY NO HARDWARE ACCELERATION (am sure your drivers need updating ) With new Firefox it is a must to update, also tech has come along way with all the media in pages and HTML5 video.
If the above does not work try below and test.
Please Go to the Firefox 3 Bar Menu --> Help ? --> Troubleshooting Information Page and take a look in the Accessibility section if accessibility is set to "true" there. if yes, go to the Firefox 3 Bar Menu --> Options --> Privacy & Security panel and under Permissions check the setting to Prevent Accessibility Services from accessing your browser. Restart Firefox and go to Search Pages had issue with and test.
Here's a more comprehensive project which affects not only tabs but brings back the old "grid-style" options menu. https://github.com/axydavid/FirefoxUI/blob/master/README.md
It isn't completely possible to use the Australis design with Firefox 57, but depending on what you want, you might be able to customize the UI to look more like the old one: This project: https://github.com/wilfredwee/photon-australis lets you have the old tab bar appearance back in Firefox 57. You can remove the space around the address bar by right-clicking on the spaces, and choosing "remove from toolbar". Note the Black Theme is just a Example and can be found in Customize.
Other code is around to put colour back in bookmarks and a lot more...
Please let us know if this solved your issue or if need further assistance.
