When installing a download program; I get no internet connecton is this being blocked by firefox?

I downloaded a program installer. When I run the Installer program ... I get the message 'you need to have a valid Internet connection to execute this program.' Is firefox causing this block somehow, if so how do I correct this?

Firefox won't block your internet connection. Possibly you have a Firewall causing issues?
