Why do I keep getting black boxes all over my screen with firefox.

When I switch to google chrome, it doesn't happen--only with firefox and it's getting worse. Doesn't happen when I first go on but as I check my emails at aol, and open some emails, the large black boxes start appearing making almost impossible to see the screen. Doesn't happen with IE either.
