Using pop and yahoo mail, I have 20000 emails and thunderbird stop after about 500 to 600. If I check mail again, it download another 500 to 600.

Thunderbird stop downloading yahoo mail using pop, after about 500 to 600 emails. If I check mail again, it downloads another 500 to 600 and stops again. This is going on for many thousands of emails. Why does it not download all emails in one try?

Usual cause is anti virus programs that have been designed and tested with small numbers of mails. Disable email scanning.
