My old computer crashed, but I was able to recover the list of bookmarks and import them into Firefox on a new installation and new profile. No problems there.

However, I did not transfer any of the history information. What I would like to do is add all of the bookmarks to the history in the new installation so they all appear as visited. Is this remotely possible (without manually visiting every single page?)

I spent quite some time with that extension and could not get it to work. It would generally work on normal web pages, but the bookmarks.html file would not work correctly.

However, Mark Selected Links As Visited worked just fine. (And requires fewer permissions.)

Try this extension:

You can export the bookmarks to an HTML file and open this file in a Firefox tab.
