Disable ad block for free use - how?
I read through the whole thread about 'ad blocker' , but nothing worked. The problem is there is no such setting as 'ad blocker' in Firefox to uncheck. Clicking on the shield symbol doesn't do it. Neither does adding the website to the list of exemptions for website pop ups. I'm afraid of un-checking the Security setting for [ ] block dangerous and deceptive content, or similar features because that will open up vulnerabilities to Firefox from ALL websites, not just the one that wants to show me advertising. This is the third time I've seen this sort of fail message from a website recently, so this sort of thing is becoming a lot more common now. Would appreciate a detailed response with series of options to try. Thanks

Firefox doesn't have an 'ad blocker' as a standard feature. But some poorly scripted web sites may have an issue with the Tracking Protection features in Firefox, and 'claim' the user has an ad blocker.
Please see this Knowledge Base article for information: https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/enhanced-tracking-protection-firefox-desktop
The shield to the left side of the Location Bar will reveal "what's going on" when Firefox tracking is blocking some content from being delivered to the viewer is the web page. That "shield" is purple when Firefox has blocked trackers and harmful scripts on a site. Click on the "shield" to see what was blocked.
Are you possibly using Private Browsing mode as that can make websites think that you have an 'ad blocker' active ?
