I'm using Firefox 80.01 64 bit on a Windows 10 machine.

For years, I could use various EXIF data viewers to access the EXIF information on HTML files located on my PC's hard drive. A couple of years, all of those utilities stopped working. Previous questions on the issue showed that no one knew what had been changed, or how to reverse the issues.

I'm assuming that nothing has changed and that the issue will still be a mystery that no one understands. However, I'll ask if anyone knows what went wrong and how to solve things.

Is this about a Firefox extension or about an external Windows application ?

For the latter you need to ask advice at a Windows oriented forum.

It's about firefox addons. As expected no one seems to know what is wrong./

I notice a security error in the Browser Console, so I assume that only http:// and https:// links are allowed and not file:// links. This is similar to web extensions not being able to use a local file for the new tab or otherwise access local files.
