Some pages seem to "wash out" LaTeX mathmode displays

Wikipedia, though I think one or 2 other sites, stopped displaying math properly. From what I can gather there is something wrong when displaying maths. Images, text, links and headings display correctly, but maths is nearly displayed with the same colour as the background. Other pages work, images load as expected and testing on another browser ("vimb") displays the maths properly.

I have tried to look for solutions and tried reading mode, deleting all cookies abt. wikipedia, uninstall/deactivate fonts and extensions..

I think that Wikipedia uses SVG images for the equations. You can check that via "View Image Info" in "Tools -> Page Info -> Media". You also can try to open such an image in a new tab (middle-click View Image) to see if that makes a difference.
