I have Thunderbird as my default email application with three email accounts assigned: two of them are from local IPs and one is for Outlook. I would like to make a backup copy of all my emails (for just-in-case reasons) and upon openning of Profile folder, I have five folders in total: three of them are in this kind of format "hjhf7zdj.default.release" (numbers and letters are different from these, of course) and the rest two are in format "iughbc65.default". Do I have to make backup of all of them or not? Also, if I ever want to reinstall Thunderbird, do I have to simply copy-paste these folder over some newly created? TIA

goto the troubleshooting information in Thunderbird help menu. Select the show profile folder button in the information. This will open file manager in the used profile folder. and you can read with of the default or default release folders you actually need from the path in file manager.
