The short answer is 'yes'.

As of TB78 OpenPGP is built into Thunderbird. Read the article to understand the differences, and the migration process. https://wiki.mozilla.org/Thunderbird:OpenPGP:Migration-From-Enigmail

It is recommended to set a master/primary password to protect your private key(s). https://www.ghacks.net/2020/12/07/you-need-to-use-a-master-password-in-thunderbird-if-you-use-openpgp/
