Using spaces menu bar to open address books to send group emails

You currently need to select someone or everyone to open the write portion

If you select everyone they are all in in to TO:

I can see no way to select everyone as a BCC:

Previous versions allowed you to open write on the right hand side of the screen with the contact list on the left hand side. You could highlight some or all of the contacts from the list and at the bottom of the list you were able to select CC: or BCC: to populate the write portion

Also export to save address books goes so far and then quits responding at 58% done. Cancel the export and if tried again it starts at 58% done and then quits responding

You don't need the Spaces bar. It was just added as a convenience. Some like it, many don't. For what you want, just click the 'write' button and then click the F9 key. On exports, I have seen no complaints from anyone on that.
