It doesn't matter what picture I try to save to disk, it always has the filename url.htm. I try to save it directly from preview with right click-save image as or I go to the full view of the picture and I get the same problem. So I always have to change the file name to something.jpg

It's even more annoying when I try to transload pics directly to a image host via a plugin, because the plugin keeps nagging that the file type is wrong, so I have to save pics with a new name and go to the host directly to save anything. It's a pain in the arse. Using Firefox 3.16.3

Start Firefox in Diagnose Firefox issues using Troubleshoot Mode to check if one of the add-ons is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Tools > Add-ons > Themes).

  • Don't make any changes on the Safe mode start window.

See:

If it does work in Safe-mode then disable all extensions and then try to find which is causing it by enabling one at a time until the problem reappears.

  • Use "Disable all add-ons" on the Safe mode start window to disable all extensions.
  • Close and restart Firefox after each change via "File > Exit" (Mac: "Firefox > Quit"; Linux: "File > Quit")

I'm using Firefox 4.0.1 with all extensions disabled. I can get around this by right-clicking the image and selecting "View Image Info". Then clicking "Save As". I've restarted in safe mode, but that does not help.
