Ff does not allow me to choose the destination of a download. There is no "save in" window

When I download a program I should be asked where it is to go. (IE has a window which gives the name of the download and a "save in " option, e.g. Desktop or My Documents or any other location.) Firefox downloads the program and then goes straight to Run without offering a choice of location.

Please check your Download settings in Firefox options. You would need to change your settings to tell Firefox to ask you where to save the file. More information can be found here: Downloads options.
