I uninstalled sortfix as an add on. Yet it still appears when I search. I reinstalled it. Used it then removed it a 2nd time in hopes of having it go away. No luck it is still my default search. Can you help me get rid of this beast?

thanks John

Their un-install instructions: http://www.sortfix.com/Extension/Uninstall

You may need to reset a preference:

  1. type about:config in the URL/Location bar and press Enter
  2. accept the warning message and continue (promise to be careful)
  3. in Filter type keyword.URL
  4. on that pref in lower panel, right-click on that preference and choose "Reset"; it should now show a value for google.com
  5. you may or may not need to restart Firefox
  6. Test with a new search from the URL/Location bar (where you normally enter a site address) and press the Enter key
