I updated to firefox 6. Now when I start up firefox the welcome page loads every time thanking me. Howdo I stop the welcome page from coming up all the time?

Every time firefox is opened. The welcome page comes up. I did safe mode, went into options and nothing works. Firefox keeps updating on start up every time.
