Why cant I get Firefox to change the font, size and color when I write an e-mail?
When I go to write an e-mail I try to change the font, size and color. I check all the appropriate places, but when I go to write it's back where I started and nothing has changed.

Just above the text area that you use to enter the message text on the "Compose New Mail page" there is usually a button bar with buttons to add text formatting like Bold and Italic and the font size.
Start Firefox in Diagnose Firefox issues using Troubleshoot Mode to check if one of the extensions or if hardware acceleration is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox (Tools) > Add-ons > Appearance/Themes).
