"Firefox already running" on Windows w/ roaming profiles

Firefox is installed on Windows 7 lab computers. Most users have roaming profiles. When these users attempt to run Firefox, they get an error that Firefox is already running. Firefox doesn't appear in the tasklist. Even after a restart when starting Firefox this message appears. Users with local profiles don't have this problem. Please help! My users want to run Firefox.

Hi mwarbeck,

Have you looked at the "Firefox is already running but is not responding" error - How to fix Knowledge Base article? There is a lot of really useful information in there and some good troubleshooting steps.
