I am unable to paste a screen shot so I will try to explain. When I open firefox it immediately shows two websites in a split screen. One will be the website that I want, and the other is the Firefox landing page. i have looked through all of my firefox bookmarks and none of them are automatically set to open in the sidebar (I found instructions on how to trouble shoot this through your forum). I am unable to minimize the second screen as well or adjust the width of the side of the screen that i want to view.

Upon restarting firefox today I received a message that I have the most up to date version. Is this customary?

You will be able to attach a screenshot now. (Screen shots for first posts is a known issue that developers are looking at.)

Not sureabout why you areunable to chage the window, a screen shot may help. Either it is the session restore, and that should be solved if you close down the extr Window before exiting Firefox, or it is an additional tab that again you should be able to close down before exiting Firefox.

Also check what is set s the home page.

Opening in the sidebar is the default for bookmarks that are created via a link or button on a website.
You can check the Properties of a bookmark via the right-click context menu in the sidebar (Ctrl+B; Cmd+B on Mac).

In the Bookmarks Manager (Bookmarks > Show All Bookmarks) you can click the More button in the Details pane at the bottom right.
Make sure that "Load this bookmark in the sidebar" is not selected.

A screen shot is attached. Thank you for the advice, As previously stated I went through all of the steps that were suggested by Cor-el. I cannot locate the bookmark that is appearing when I open FF. I assume that it is a default bookmark that is automatically part of FF b/c it goes directly to the FF Google Search window. I cannot locate that particular bookmark and I have gone through all of my FF bookmarks via the steps you gave above. Please advise.

That is a bookmark that opens in the sidebar at the left side.

Did you check the Home page setting to make sure that you didn't select a bookmark?

Did you search for networksolutions.com?

Thank you for this. I believe I found the error. All bookmarks that had tags were automatically marked to show up in the sidebar. Not sure why, but fixed now. Thanks again,
