Since Feb18th FF has crashed over 50x . There are 54 reports available since then, including four NOT beginning with 'bp-' nor ending with a typical 'yymmdd' date code, if that means anything.

I was on version 18.0.2 when this began. Update to 19.0 didn't help. FF is configured to clear the cache on exit. I manually clear it after crashes. I've cleared my profile of 'sessionstore.js' files several times. Starting in Safe Mode doesn't help.

I rarely run FF with Admin privileges, except in safe mode. FF doesn't work in Safe Mode when invoked by DropMyRights. Also NoScript blocks Java except when needed for a page.

Both the boot drive and the H: drive are SSDs, but I recently moved the Windows pagefile to a hybrid SSD/HDD (Seagate Momentus XT ), thinking it might have been causing problems with the SSD when this all began. I was running FF without any problem after moving the Cache to the SSD. Hardly use disk cache w/8GB of memory on the mobo, although < half seen by 32bit WinXP.

Recently installed 'MSN for FF', which changed my home page(s) to a single page at MSN and my default Search. Manually changed them back, then removed the extension.

Removed all .NET today.

Sorry I admit I do not understand these crashes, all I can think of is to suggest a few more troubleshooting steps to try.

You have a variety of signatures, but given that some reports may not be complete and you mention the lack of bp- prefix so some do not even submit, I am not sure the Crash IDs may even be accurate.

the above report lists masses of extension IDs,but does not then populate the name fields which is odd.

I would suggest creating a new additional firefox profile for testing purposes, remove all extensions in that profile, and disable all plugins then run in safe mode, does it still crash then ? (If so please send another couple of crashIDs for those crashes).

Note Firefox's Safe Mode does not disable plugins, but it will disable javascript and Hardware Acceleration. I may have thought about blaming the new ionmonkey compiler but that can not be the cause if you have safe mode crashes.

Next step lets try to eliminate any unnecessary software. Please this time again use the new profile and Firefox's safe mode but start Windows itself in Safe Mode from the F8 key whilst re-booting using the network enabled . Again if you still crash please provide a couple of te CrashIds that weresubmitted and include the bp- prefix.

Wild conjecture but I wonder would it be conceivable that using SSDs could be involved with your problem, possibly somehow a timing issue or race condition that does not occur on HDDs, but I would not have a clue how to investigate that other than to suggest installing and testing an extra instance of Firefox on the hybrid drive that you mention. As you use windows maybe try a portable version of Firefox that is the easiest method of running an additional Firefox

A more likely possibility not yet explored is that it is a malware problem, or conversely security software blocking or crashing Firefox. Maybe test Firefox whilst offline with security software disabled.
