Just upgraded to 19.0.2.

Have Options set to "show my windows and tabs from last time" and is suddenly not restoring if I exit using File and then Exit command. It randomly saves a prior tab from the last time I rebooted only. It is, however, acting on the startup commands. For example, when I select "show blank page" or "show home page", it works. As soon as I select "show my windows and tabs from last time", it goes back to tab prior to the reboot and not the last tabs that I had prior to closing the last session.

When I exit using the "X" at the top right hand corner, however, no problem. My tabs from the previous session automatically re-appear but ONLY if I have "Show All Bookmarks" activated. If I exit that, then once again, that tab prior to the reboot reappears.

I tried uninstalling and reinstalling FF (keeping my prior settings) and it did nothing. I have the history under the Privacy tab set to "remember history"

On a side note, I tried my other PC with the same version of FF, and it does not have this problem

Yes. Nothing happened after restarting FF (I tried putting some tabs up, then exiting, and the old tab still came up).

Don't know what going on now. All of a sudden my tabs from my last session were saved after exiting then opening FF. I made no changes. BUT - on subsequent tab updates, no go. It only saves that one session and no further ones. The savings now seem random for no reason.

Please help by giving me step-by-step directions.

Are you running the addon: Tabs Mix Plus? If so, disable it and try and restart to see if that helps.

If not, maybe try and uninstall, then reinstall. Make sure you copy and save your FF profile to another folder on your PC - like documents etc.. Then while uninstalling, do NOT delete your user profile. See part 7 that addresses this.

HERE is how you do this.

good luck

Good luck. JM

NOTHING IS WORKING. I tried to to uninstall/reinstall FF to no avail. Each time I made sure to NOT check mark the box that says Remove my Firefox personal data and customizations. I am totally lost at this point of what to do.

WAS I SUPPOSED TO CHECK THE that says Remove my Firefox personal data and customizations? WHAT DID I DO WRONG?

Create a new profile as a test to check if your current profile is causing the problems.

See "Creating a profile":

If the new profile works then you can transfer some files from an existing profile to the new profile, but be careful not to copy corrupted files.

THIS IS GOING AROUND IN CIRCLES. YOU ALREADY POSTED THIS SAME ANSWER WEEKS AGO AND I STATED:

I followed "Create Profile" and nothing happened. I don't see the new profile folder. Totally lost/don't understand. I need to step-by-step rather than trying to figure out where to look.

Please re-state with a step-by-step as to how to do this.

It sounds that you have a problem with security (firewall, anti-virus) software or cleanup software if you aren't able to create a new profile or keep session data.

A new profile should store session data without problems and have the previous session available via History > Restore Previous Session.

My problem was that Firefox would only open the home page, even if 'show my windows and tabs from last time' was selected.

I tried most of the suggestions here, none worked, including trying a new profile.

This did: uninstalling Babylon toolbar from Windows. if you've been cursed by that sucker, you can uninstall it in Control Panel or read this page for thorough removal. https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/remove-babylon-toolbar-home-page-and-search-engine

I had virtually forgotten it was around (resetting firefox seemed to hide it for me) but it was, and as soon as it uninstalled... my tabs were remembered.

Hope that helps some.

@subluka, I agree the babylon toolbar or script is a living nightmare. It will often try and hijack your homepage. It is ofter loaded with [bad] torrents, and other downloadable programs. So if you ever see it asking to install on anything = check NO!

Removing ALL of it can be a problem and often requires deleting entries in the registry. Malwarebytes is a great free program for getting rid off malware like babylon, as it Ccleaner.

"Browser protect" is a great free addon for FF that really does a good job to prevent scripts like babylon.

Hello !

Can anyone state that 1. FF has facility to restore tabs with appropriate URL' s from different previous date same as with Bookmarks where you can set date and FF retreives bookmarks as saved per this date

2. FF has facility to automatically open tabs when profile is transferred to new computer.

  1. 1
  2. 2
