Facebook is using this new cookie to track user web surfing. I have Firefox set to deny third party cookies and ask every time for all others. Nevertheless, this cookie "advanced-web-analytics.com" is bypassing the permission protocol I selected and being stored without my permission.

Okay. I've done some more research on this. I closed all but one tab. I reset Firefox to the default home page. I deleted all cookies/exceptions. It appears the blind acceptance of this "advanced-web-analytics.com" cookie is tied to Firefox. I delete it, close and restart Firefox with only the default home page tab open and this cookie is automatically accepted. I want my privacy protected. Not automatically violated.

As I indicated in the initial post, third party cookies have already been disabled.

What is the path of this cookie?

Does it show in the list if you click the Site Identity Button (globe/padlock) and proceed to More Information and View Cookies?

Start Firefox in Safe Mode to check if one of the extensions (Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Extensions) or if hardware acceleration is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Appearance).

  • Do NOT click the Reset button on the Safe mode start window or otherwise make changes.

Okay...

This was educational, with respect to Firefox diagnostics. The issue has nothing to do with Firefox. The heretofore anomalous cookie was associated with a small program I installed. Which program is designed to enhance online banking security.

Problem solved.

Thanks.
