I open a new tab and nothing works until I click anywhere, get redirected to a different tab, close that one, then I can follow links on tab I wanted to open.
When I open a new tab, for instance if I search on a topic and there are several sites that seem promising, I will open them in new tabs. I can scroll over the links or text on the new tab and the cursor doesn't react. The new tab has fully loaded but the cursor will not recognize text or links. Before anything will work first I have to left-click anywhere on the page. I get redirected to a new tab, invariably a trusted offer or survey. When I close that other tab, then the first tab acts normal. I scroll over it and the cursor recognizes the text and the links.

Hello,
The Reset Firefox feature can fix many issues by restoring Firefox to its factory default state while saving your essential information. Note: This will cause you to lose any Extensions, Open websites, and some Preferences.
To Reset Firefox do the following:
- Go to Firefox > Help > Troubleshooting Information.
- Click the "Reset Firefox" button.
- Firefox will close and reset. After Firefox is done, it will show a window with the information that is imported. Click Finish.
- Firefox will open with all factory defaults applied.
Further information can be found in the Refresh Firefox - reset add-ons and settings article.
Did this fix your problems? Please report back to us!
Thank you.
Start Firefox in Safe Mode to check if one of the extensions (Firefox/Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Extensions) or if hardware acceleration is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox/Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Appearance).
- Do NOT click the Reset button on the Safe Mode start window or otherwise make changes.

Do a malware check with some malware scanning programs on the Windows computer.
Please scan with all programs because each program detects different malware.
Make sure that you update each program to get the latest version of their databases before doing a scan.
