Hi all,

I recently updated from FF28 to FF29. I check for plugins updates about once a month. In the Add-ons Manager, I click on the link "Check to see if your plugins are up to date", and that brings me on the Mozilla website (https://www.mozilla.org/en-US/plugincheck/). In the previous versions, it worked fine and would populate the list. But since I upgraded to FF29.0, nothing happens, it doesn't load/display any plugins status anymore. I haven't changed settings or disabled anything, just the usual normal update process as it's setup to automatically download and install updates. Any ideas how to fix? Many thanks

Well, I tried Safe mode, not working. Reset, not working. Disabled all Add-ons one at a time, not working. Removed theme, not working. Cleared the cache and cookies, not working. Removed all Add-ons one by one, not working. Disabled my firewall for a minute, not working. Disabled ALL security for a minute, not working. Uninstalled FF29 and reinstalled, not working. Uninstalled FF29 and reinstalled FF28, not working. Uninstalled FF28 and cleaned the HDD and registry of everything related to Mozilla and reinstalled FF29 and a few necessary plugins, now that works. Reinstalled all the add-ons and plugins one by one, still working.

Not sure what that was all about, maybe something was blocking some java script on Mozilla update page?

Anywho, all back to "normal" now. Thanks for your help.

Hello,

can you please provide us a screenshot of your problem. ( take a snip of the Mozilla Plugin Check site)

see : How do I create a screenshot of my problem? after creating a screenshot please attach it to the reply box here using the Browse button under the reply box.

Moreover you can try resetting Firefox to its default state it generally fixes most of the problems. Refresh Firefox - reset add-ons and settings

Thanks for the reply Aman,

I put two screen shots, the Add-ons Manager page where I click the link and the Mozilla webpage that should list my plug-ins with their status. Tried the reset, but still no go. Also tried disabling add-ons one by one, no-go either. Thanks for your help

Hello,

Certain Firefox problems can be solved by performing a Clean reinstall. This means you remove Firefox program files and then reinstall Firefox. Please follow these steps:

Note: You might want to print these steps or view them in another browser.

  1. Download the latest Desktop version of Firefox from http://www.mozilla.org and save the setup file to your computer.
  2. After the download finishes, close all Firefox windows (click Exit from the Firefox or File menu).
  3. Delete the Firefox installation folder, which is located in one of these locations, by default:
    • Windows:
      • C:\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox
      • C:\Program Files (x86)\Mozilla Firefox
    • Mac: Delete Firefox from the Applications folder.
    • Linux: If you installed Firefox with the distro-based package manager, you should use the same way to uninstall it - see Install Firefox on Linux. If you downloaded and installed the binary package from the Firefox download page, simply remove the folder firefox in your home directory.
  4. Now, go ahead and reinstall Firefox:
    1. Double-click the downloaded installation file and go through the steps of the installation wizard.
    2. Once the wizard is finished, choose to directly open Firefox after clicking the Finish button.

More information about reinstalling Firefox can be found here.

WARNING: Do not run Firefox's uninstaller or use a third party remover as part of this process, because that could permanently delete your Firefox data, including but not limited to, extensions, cache, cookies, bookmarks, personal settings and saved passwords. These cannot be recovered unless they have been backed up to an external device!

Please report back to see if this helped you!

Thank you.

Figured it out for me, using FF 29.0.1

Do you have NoScript installed? . . . it's the #4 Add-on.

Set NoScript to "Allow Scripts Globally (dangerous)"

. . . it automatically refreshes, and you will see the plugins
