I am unable to change search bar from Bing even after deleting Bing!
I would like to change the default search engine to Google. I have put Google on the top of the search engine list but every time I close FireFox and reopen it Bing is set in the search bar! I have even deleted Bing in the manage search engine list and still after closing and reopening FireFox There sits Bing. Very frustrating! I love the browser but I will change if I can't get this straightened out. I have performed all the steps to make Google the default but somehow Bing always is in the search bar when restarting FireFox. Please Help

Do a malware check with several malware scanning programs on the Windows computer. Please scan with all programs because each program detects different malware. All these programs have free versions.
Make sure that you update each program to get the latest version of their databases before doing a scan.

Relating to the suggested malware cleanup, also check your Windows Control Panel, Uninstall a Program, for "SearchProtect" to make sure you don't have that one.
Another possibility is that an extension is modifying/overriding your preference at startup. You can review and disable nonessential or unrecognized extensions on the Add-ons page. Either:
- Ctrl+Shift+a
- "3-bar" menu button (or Tools menu) > Add-ons
In the left column, click Extensions. Then, if in doubt, disable.
Often a link will appear above at least one disabled extension to restart Firefox. You can complete your work on the tab and click one of the links as the last step.
Does your search engine still get switched from Google to Bing at startup?
External software also can create a configuration file named user.js that Firefox will use to override your preferences. This article describes how to track that down: How to fix preferences that won't save.
Finally, if you use Advanced SystemCare or other software with features similar to "home page protection" or "browser protection," that may be preventing you from keeping settings changes between sesssions.
Download the Mozilla Search Reset {web link} This add-on is very simple: on installation, it backs up and then resets your search preferences and home page to their default values, and then uninstalls itself. This affects the search bar, URL bar searches, and the home page.
After installing malwarebytes and running a scan Firefox is working perfect! Thank you everyone for the help!
