I have " Mozilla Firefox start page - http://www.google.co.uk/firefox" in my bookmarks On trying to open this it takes me straight to Goole start page.

hello arbenny, this is an old homepage that wasn't maintained after firefox 4, but it was still hosted by google for the time the search contract between google and mozilla was in place, which is now no longer the case. the new default homepage that firefox uses now is about:home, which you can set like described at How to set the home page
