I asked what is the Name to the email Folders that are in thunderbird..as I need the folders that were in my old thunderbird account. I did look up the profile already and it only shows the current one. I do however have the hard drive with my old email account and just need to know what to look for , as the files are called many things..but I'm looking for the folders that were in my email... please. That is explained in the article. Mail is stored in the profile underneath ImapMail or Mail, depending on your account type. What's on the disk belonging to your old laptop, or where those files are located on the old disk, I don't know. But I'd assume the profile still exists on the old disk. Mail files are mbox files, and don't have a file extension, so you look for files like Inbox, Read, Sent, etc.

The inbox folders are kept together, and I don't know the file name for them. I do have the mail file open, however, there are many file names that I do not know and help with. Please tell me the file name that has the inbox folders in them. Thanks!

I have the same problem, except I need to retrieve my contacts in my old hard drive so I can transfer them to my new drive. What is the name of the file where they are contained?
