This is a new PC, running Win7, with a fresh install of FF39.0 - pages are very slow to load, and sometimes need to be refreshed in order to load. Even when they appear to have loaded, the "busy" icon in the tab title keeps spinning. Sometimes the icon stops spinning after a few minutes, other times it never stops spinning.

I have had to go back to using Internet Explorer (after more than 7 years using FF) because of this problem.

Issues have been previously linked to the McAfee Site Advisor extension. Try to disable it and see if the problem persists.

To disable it: Type "about:addons" in the Location bar Find the extension and click on its "Disable" button

Start Firefox in Safe Mode {web Link} by holding down the <Shift>
(Mac Options)
key, and then starting Firefox. Is the problem still there?

You can boot the computer in Windows Safe Mode with network support (press F8 on the boot screen) to see if that has effect.

You can check for problems with the places.sqlite database file in the Firefox profile folder.

Thanks.

I have no McAfee products on this PC (I also do not have any plug-ins loaded or printer (wireless or hard-wired) installed).

I will try Safe Mode and see where I get.
