Just to make things clear, I have no idea if this is a problem belonging to Firefox support or Microsoft support, so forgive me if I got this in the wrong place

So I had to install some new codecs for my windows media player, and along setting wmp as my default everything for anything music and video, I saw something weird; when I go to default programs>set your default programs, I see firefox, and it has the windows media player icon, and it says Firefox, Microsoft Corporation

here's a pic; so, wat do, reinstall, or talk to Microsoft support?

First, make sure you have Firefox 40.0.2, there is a bug in 40 related to setting default on Windows 10.

After that, try clearing the defaults and then setting them again (also, make sure Windows is up to date).

So I made a backup of my profile (just a simple copy/paste job), then put it in a 7zip compressed file, then after checking with revo pro, when I tried uninstalling it, I didn't get that default uninstaller starting, but I managed to get it "uninstalled" either way; afterwards, just to be sure, I reinstalled firefox, then uninstalled it with revo pro, and firefox's uninstaller ran successfully, and I properly cleaned it from my computer

after that, I reinstalled it ONE more time (after clearing my computer's icon cache and thumbnail cache just incase), then I copied my backed up firefox profile files into the default folder so I wouldn't need to reinstall alot of extensions, and after checking my default programs for firefox, that problem I had is no longer
