I want to remove the back and reload button from firefox browser completely, I dont want to do it using javascript. Does firefox SDK can help to build a browser, removing the back and reload button? Does firefox support QT object interactions?

This add-on can help you,

Many of us are using; Classic Theme Restorer (Customize Australis) {web link} Restore squared tabs, appmenu, add-ons bar, small button view and more on Australis UI (Windows/MacOSX/Linux + Fx 29+).

This will restore many of the things the last upgrades took away.

You can remove items in the user interface via CSS code in the userChrome.css file.

Note that the Reload button behaves as three different buttons as it shows like a combined Stop/Reload/Go button.

  • Stop button: while the page is loading
  • Reload button: when the page has finished loading
  • Go button: when you modify the location/address bar content

Do you want yo hide all three states?

Do you want to remove both the back and forward buttons?

Hiding the Back and Forward button doesn't work well for me because the urlbar get get a border at the left end. Add code to the userChrome.css file below the default @namespace line.

@namespace url("http://www.mozilla.org/keymaster/gatekeeper/there.is.only.xul"); /* only needed once */

#back-button, #forward-button {display:none!important;}

The customization files userChrome.css (user interface) and userContent.css (websites) are located in the chrome folder in the Firefox profile folder.

You can use the DOM Inspector to check what rules are applied to an element.
