I recently bought an HP laptop. It had Chromw loaded, I prefer Firefox. More and more now when I try to open a FF window I get :

"Our systems have detected unusual traffic from your computer network. This page checks to see if it's really you sending the requests, and not a robot". This is also available:

"This page appears when Google automatically detects requests coming from your computer network which appear to be in violation of the Terms of Service. The block will expire shortly after those requests stop. In the meantime, solving the above CAPTCHA will let you continue to use our services.

This traffic may have been sent by malicious software, a browser plug-in, or a script that sends automated requests. If you share your network connection, ask your administrator for help — a different computer using the same IP address may be responsible. "

Sometimes you may be asked to solve the CAPTCHA if you are using advanced terms that robots are known to use, or sending requests very quickly. I am then forced to go through the Captcha rigmarole and it seems less and less keen to ever let me past.

Within our household we have two other laptops running FF and have no such problems with them

Thoughts and advice would be welcome?

Thanks

Please consider turning on send info to Mozilla before posting a question. This helps us help you. As I have no info from your system that would help see things that cause issues.

You did not mention where/who these notices where coming from. Google will do that once in awhile especially if use Private Browsing in search.

Have you gone through Windows 10 and turned off everything that does not need to connect to the net, Have you turned off how Win10 can share updates with other computers...ever ones...including not on your wifi. If you have not done this you need to go through every link and page in Settings to see if it is doing what you want and also with security in mind. A useful program is called O&O ShutUp10 https://www.oo-software.com/en/shutup10 Stops huge amount of Win10 traffic to MS about you.

Run more than 1 program as each scans different for each program. Save the logs. https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/troubleshoot-firefox-issues-caused-malware and use AdwCleaner (now bought by Malwarebytes) https://forums.malwarebytes.com/topic/9573-im-infected-what-do-i-do-now/ SO if do not understand the reports then do not delete anything unless you Google each line. Or just go to the above URL. Post in 1 forum only and wait.
