I'm using the new Firefox Quantum. I'm downloading video files from Coursera, it was going fine but suddenly, after the pop-up appears asking you to choose a save file location, I click "Save" but nothing happens, it doesn't close the pop-up and the download doesn't start.

I've already tried clearing all downloads, changing save location and refreshing Firefox completely. The problem still persists.

In addition, the little download button in the toolbar keeps disappearing. I have to go to "Customize", drag it away and drag it back onto the toolbar to make the download button reappear on other web pages.

EDIT: I found the issue with the first problem, turns out it wasn't allowing me to save a file with "?" in the title lol. Not sure why the usual warning didn't pop up. The second problem is still unresolved.

Hello, The Refresh feature (called "Reset" in older Firefox versions) can fix many issues by restoring Firefox to its factory default state while saving your bookmarks, history, passwords, cookies, and other essential information. Note: When you use this feature, you will lose any extensions, toolbar customizations, and some preferences. See the Refresh Firefox - reset add-ons and settings article for more information. To Refresh Firefox:
  1. Open the Troubleshooting Information page using one of these methods:
    • Click the menu button New Fx Menu, click help Help-29 and select Troubleshooting Information. A new tab containing your troubleshooting information should open.
    • If you're unable to access the Help menu, type about:support in your address bar to bring up the Troubleshooting Information page.
  2. At the top right corner of the page, you should see a button that says "Refresh Firefox" ("Reset Firefox" in older Firefox versions). Click on it.
  3. Firefox will close. After the refresh process is completed, Firefox will show a window with the information that is imported.
  4. Click Finish and Firefox will reopen.
Did this fix the problem? Please report back to us! Thank you.

As I mentioned, I had already refreshed Firefox, to no effect. The problem seems to have disappeared since you last replied, however. I'll just mark this as solved.

Hello, to make the download button appear at all times, enter Customize Firefox, click on it and uncheck the box that says Auto-Hide.

Thanks, but Auto-Hide is already unchecked, and the download button still keeps disappearing. It leaves a blank space behind.
