Hi, I would suspect some corruption some where. Possibly the Profile. Always :

be cautious not to copy corrupted files to avoid carrying over the problem. Never work with original files.

If it is only bookmarks you care about then the process is simple.

  I tried several of the items above:
    Removing and importing Bookmarks did not help
    New profile did not help.

Following up with the corrupt file idea, I de-installed Firefox and removed all Mozilla directories. From the original PC, I ensured that Firefox was not running and then copied the Mozilla directory from ~\AppData\Roaming. I then copied the directory on to the new PC and re-installed Firefox. This worked perfectly!

Are you using Sync to sync bookmark because that is a possible cause of corrupted bookmarks?
