How to restore old CTRL+Tab behaviour?
Hi.
I have "Ctrl+Tab cycles through tabs in recently used order" setting turned on and it's behaving strangely.
When I hit CTRL+Tab firefox shows a strange window with small previews of the six most recent tabs. If I need to switch to the 7th most recent tab, I can't. When I hit CTRL+Tab 7 times, firefox opens the "List all tabs" dropdown with all my tabs.
How do I: - Disable the window with the tab previews? - Disable and remove "List all tabs" dropdown? - Just let CTRL+Tab switch my most recent tabs, all of them?

Hi synthakai, the "List All Tabs" button appears when there are too many tabs to fit on the Tabs bar. You can, if you like, remove it using the Customize feature -- click and drag it down to the box with the other unused buttons. See: Customize Firefox controls, buttons and toolbars.
For Ctrl+Tab, I think the overlay you see is normal. Yours didn't show that before with the same setting?
hi, jscher2000. Thanks for your answer.
Yes, I have a lot of tabs usually, and you might be right that the "List All Tabs" button appears because of it. But the thing is, a version ago I was able to keep it hidden. It popped up with the last update. I tried moving it around, but I can't seem to be able to get it off the screen and into the unused buttons section. I can only move it to the left or to the right of the tab bar.

As far as I can remember, it didn't appear some versions ago, but I'm unsure. Maybe it's ok for some users. But I dislike it. It's annoying, it eats resources and lags on my older netbook, it doesn't let me switch to further than 6th tab with CTRL+Tab combination. I would seriously like the old behaviour back. Any ideas?

Try to go to Options -> General -> and uncheck the Ctrl+Tab cycles through tabs in recently used order option.
hi, TyDraniu. Interesting idea. Well, I tried unchecking the "Ctrl+Tab cycles through tabs in recently used order" and guess what? - Now I can't switch the tabs in MRU order :))) (which I wanted to do, as I wrote in the first message) however, I have to mention, that: + The window with tab previews doesn't appear anymore; - I still can't remove the "List all tabs" dropdown.
I dislike the tab switcher preview (like windows ALT+TAB), but I like switching in recently used order. At least Firefox Developer Edition still uses the old behaviour for both (switching tabs instead of a preview overlay).
There is a setting in Options/Preferences to set this behavior. When you disable this feature then you can cycle normally though all the tabs. With the feature enabled you can only cycle through a few recently used tabs.

guys&gals, please, stay focused as I wrote in the first post, I am aware of this option. I want to scroll through ALL tabs AND in the MRU order, the way it used to be before FF went chrome-crazy
