Request: Pic-in-pic feature should only overlay as always-on-top on firefox, not other windows.
The picture-in-picture feature is absolutely delightful and I love it, I used to split a specific tab off into a new window and rely on either Windows "snap" or a tiling window manager under Linux. However, because the Pic-in-Pic window is spawned as a new window, focused always-on-top, this means even when firefox isn't in focus, other windows will be placed behind it. This is logical and obviously the most sane development route. But it would be cool if there were some way to enable a "fixed to firefox" option, so that the always-on-top only applied to firefox windows, rather than the entire display environment.

I agree that this would be a very helpful option to many of users. I've filed a bug report (see bug 1615770) so that the developers can look into the idea and hopefully implement it into a future version of Firefox.
Thanks for the suggestion!
Note that on Linux you can easily disable 'Always on Top' via the system menu (Alt+Space).

That's very specific to the window manager or desktop environment. Not everybody uses GNOME or KDE or i3 or dwm or bspwm or [insert 300 other things here].
