I'm no longer going to be working at my current company so I would like to set up email forwarding through my Thunderbird server or an Automatic response while my email address is still active. I know you can set-up an Automatic response in Thunderbird but the application has to be open and running for it to send out - no one is going to be opening my email every day so I would like to do it through the server so it doesn't have to be.

If that is done via the employer's server, Thunderbird is not involved.
