As far as I can tell , Thunderbird 102.8.0 on OSX fails silently on attempting posting to newsgroups. Any suggestions welcome. The problem also affects some previous versions. Newsgroup posting worked correctly at one time, but I do not know when it stopped working.

To clarify, it is OSX Monterey 12.6.3
