Firefox crashes when I try to save a webpage as a pdf file.
I am using Firefox 3.6.6 on Mac OS 10.4.11. I used to be able to save webpages as pdf files with no trouble on older versions of Firefox. I'm not sure which update started the problem, but it's been going on for about 4 months. I go to "file" and "print" and then select "save as pdf." Next, a message box appears, but it is completely blank (that is, a blank gray box drops down from the top of the screen). Since it's blank, there's no "ok" or "cancel" button to click on. When I try to click anywhere on the screen, I get an error beep. I have to force quit. Sometimes (not every time) there is an icon left behind on my desktop for the pdf I was trying to create, and Adobe Reader tells me that it's broken and can't be opened.

I use iMac. And I using Firefox 3.6.8 on Mac OS X 10.6.4. I have a similar problem with you. But I didn't get an error beep. I still could get a PDF file icon on my desktop, but it was complete blank, nothing inside. It didn't transfer sucessfully I think. However, when I used Safari to save web pages as PDF file, then it's fine. I can got PDF file completely. Someone please help me, it's really annoying.
To the original poster,
Go to the address about:crashes and tell us your latest crash IDs. We can then look at the data specific to your crash and have a better idea of what is causing the problem.
Hello, I have never received a crash ID for this particular problem. I get a blank message box, and then I have to force quit. It does not generate a crash report.
Anybody?
I should add, I can save pdf copies of the same websites from the Safari browser with no problem.
I had the same problem. When downloading something the window with the save location got stuck when I press Save or Cancel. I've uninstall Firefox completely, did some registry and PC cleans, reinstall Firefox, but the problem stood. Soon after I decided to restart my PC, and THAT solved the problem. I often put my Laptop on hibernate, maybe that cause the problem, but accidentally I guess, cause now I use hibernation again and have no problem. Now I can save any download to any location. Perhaps it is something from the OS (I have XP64) which affected Firefox in some way. So an OS Restart solved my problem. I see that Firefox IS NOT the problem... yet, but who knows... Hope this will help too...
