bookmarks are gone, nothing new installed, checked for double profiles, tried to load the .json backs but none can be loaded by firefox, any other way to fix this?

firefox 4 has been installed and running smoothly for 3 weeks, no new extensions installed, nothing new installed on windows, did not crash the last time I used it (earlier today)

all configs, passwords and even the searchbox custom searches are gone as well

A possible cause is a problem with the file places.sqlite that stores the bookmarks and the history.
