When opening Firefox today, we found that the menu bar and dock icons all disappear when the application is open (however, once we click on the background or another application, these both reappear). What can we do to assure that the menu bar and dock icons are available when Firefox is open?

Make sure that you do not run Firefox in full screen mode (press F11 or Fn + F11 to toggle; Mac: command+Shift+F).
