When I go to school's site I get this:'...must use a browser that supports java script' FF says it does. ??
All of a sudden the usual procedure to get to school's grade system won't work. Web address: <www.fordhamprep.org>, you modify to <powerschool.fordhamprep.org/teachers> and are then asked for username and password. Has worked fine for, what, 3 years. Now I get: "Need to use browser that has enabled Java Script." From what I can tell, Firefox does. If I activate IE, everything works fine!. BUT I NEVER use IE (except that once to see if it would work). I haven't downloaded any updates except last Firefox/Thunderbird/Adobe ones. School's techies say it's my desktop (PH Pavilion p6210y PC Win7HomePrem. I'd rather not use IE because I don't trust Microsoft. I only use Win because I have no choice.

I tried the "Safe Mode" but nothing changed. I saw the "Reset Firefox" and after letting things settle went back in and tried that but nothing changed then either. Thanks anyway. I didn't really understand cor-el's suggestion. Anyway, I went to Mozilla and downloaded Firefox and installed a fresh copy and that seems to have done the trick! The stubborn school website no longer posts the JavaScript needed sign. Of course, a garage door somewhere may be raising and lowering, but . . . thanks for the the suggestions. . . and the school want to go completely to e-texts and 1-to-1 computing in all classrooms . . .God help us!

Hello,
Try Firefox Safe Mode to see if the problem goes away. Safe Mode is a troubleshooting mode, which disables most add-ons.
(If you're not using it, switch to the Default theme.)
- You can open Firefox 4.0+ in Safe Mode by holding the Shift key when you open the Firefox desktop or Start menu shortcut.
- Or open the Help menu and click on the Restart with Add-ons Disabled... menu item while Firefox is running.
Once you get the pop-up, just select "'Start in Safe Mode"
If the issue is not present in Firefox Safe Mode, your problem is probably caused by an extension, and you need to figure out which one. Please follow the Troubleshoot extensions, themes and hardware acceleration issues to solve common Firefox problems article for that.
To exit the Firefox Safe Mode, just close Firefox and wait a few seconds before opening Firefox for normal use again.
When you figure out what's causing your issues, please let us know. It might help other users who have the same problem.
In case your youtube doesn't open too, then have a lookhere
Thank you.
Clear the cache and the cookies from websites that cause problems.
"Clear the Cache":
- Firefox/Tools > Options > Advanced > Network > Cached Web Content: "Clear Now"
"Remove Cookies" from sites causing problems:
- Firefox/Tools > Options > Privacy > Cookies: "Show Cookies"
You can remove all data stored in Firefox from a specific domain via "Forget About This Site" in the right-click context menu of an history entry ("History > Show All History" or "View > Sidebar > History") or via the about:permissions page.
Using "Forget About This Site" will remove all data stored in Firefox from that domain like bookmarks, cookies, passwords, cache, history, and exceptions, so be cautious and if you have a password or other data from that domain that you do not want to lose then make a note of those passwords and bookmarks.
You can't recover from this 'forget' unless you have a backup of the affected files.
It doesn't have any lasting effect, so if you revisit such a 'forgotten' website then data from that website will be saved once again.
