I'm looking for firefox uninstall instructions--and only those technological instructions. No moral lectures, please. I am not gay. But neither am I homophobic. I simply do not want Firefox on my computer since Mozilla has shown itself to be a tool of left wing intolerance by forcing out Eich as CEO. The intolerance of the Mozilla leadership team's postmodern "tolerance" is not logically sound and therefore not logically valid either. Furthermore, it is unbearable. Mozilla has made a moral choice, and I have too. I am voting by uninstalling firefox.

Hi,

Yes, there are a few more files to ensure Firefox is uninstalled completely.

  • Firefox also has a .plist file at ~/Library/Preferences/org.mozilla.firefox.plist you may wish to remove.
  • If you also wish to remove your Firefox user data and settings (bookmarks, extensions, etc.) trash the "Firefox" folder, located here: ~Library/Application Support/Firefox

Just answered this on this thread

If these solutions do not work for you please let me know.

Thanks Enzyem. I believe this was your threaded answer:

"What operating system are you using? For windows control panel> program and features> locate firefox (modzilla)>select uninstall/change and it should uninstall everything. Mac just drag the app to the trash can"

However, I get the feeling there is more to it than that. On my mac, even after I drag the Firefox app to the trash, are there not other Firefox files still resident on my computer? Unlike your windows uninstall explanation, I don't think dragging an app to the trash will "uninstall everything" on my mac.

And in case you willing to be more open minded on what really happened. Please see

From one closed minded observer to another: Interesting PR spins there with Mozilla leadership being presented as victims. The victim was actually Eich. As I see it, Mozilla's leadership team has acquiesced to the bullying tactics of the strong gay rights movement in order to remain politically correct. Now is the opportune time for the Mozilla leadership team to show the same strength of character that Eich displayed.

Unfortunately many individuals (including yourself) and article writers are assuming he must have been fired or forced out all due to his personal choice to leave for now versus staying in some capacity like going back to CTO or another role as the board members encouraged him to do.

I bet even if he had gone back to being CTO you would assume he was forced to do so by board. If Mozilla board did not support him for who he is then they would not have perhaps promoted him from CTO to CEO in first place right?

A blog post by Brendan Eich himself. https://brendaneich.com/2014/03/inclusiveness-at-mozilla/ and then https://brendaneich.com/2014/04/the-next-mission/

I am open minded however you need to open yours ;)

And yes Mozilla is a victim also as they are getting unfairly attacked all due to false misconceptions of what happened.

James, how about as "Moderator," you politely accept my initial request in this thread?: "I'm looking for firefox uninstall instructions--and only those technological instructions. No moral lectures, please." My technological question has been answered very well by Moses. Can we sign off? Or do I need to continue to listen to your moral lectures?

Hi doclittle, other users have asked for uninstall instructions today, and received exactly what they asked for.

But you didn't stop there: you deliberately threw open this debate. Declaring that your first word is the last word is not effective on the internet.

If you can dish it out but not take it, you can unsubscribe from updates to this thread. There is a link to the right of your post in the Question Tools section.

Hi doclittle,

jscher2000 is right. I'll be closing off this thread as this problem is solved and so there will be no more attacking each other. If you have another support request, please make a new one at /questions/new.

Thanks!
