Ok, so whilst using Firefox, lately adobe flash player has been crashing upon opening a YouTube video. This could be when i click a video and the new page opens and freezes, or when I actually get to the video but it then crashes. Alongside this, sometimes the videos are delayed to start, as in the video starts bufferng but doesn't actually start playing until later.

I've tried many proposed solutions but none seem to have worked

(Tried: New profile Clean Install Clear cache, cookies, etc.. Disable plugins Addons (video without flash, etc...) Protected mode (for FF and Flash) Virus scans (had nothing bad that was scanned) Disable/ Enable hardware acceleration Updating Flash (i'm using the latest version... 15.0.0.233)

Alongside this, i've tried using Chrome which also gives similar results, crash, hanging or the video delay at the start.

What could be wrong?

Heres a crash report i submitted (the latest one)

Hello Tempting! I'm sorry to hear that you're having troubles. From what it looks like right now, you may be running low on RAM, causing Flash to go awry. Press Ctrl+Shift+Esc to open up your task manager. The navigate to the Performance tab and post what you see. I come to this conclusion due to the fact that you mentioned that it also happens with Chrome. You can also try uninstalling and reinstalling Adobe Flash to see if that clears up anything as well.

Hello, sorry about the mis-information i included. It seems chrome doesn't crash like firefox does, but it seems there's just a delay when viewing youtube videos with chorme. i have 6gb of ram on my laptop and i usually only have chome/firefox open when watching videos so i dont think there should be any ram issues.

I'll reinstall flash again and see what happens.

6GB of RAM shouldn't be the issue here, so let me know if reinstalling Flash Player helps at all.

i reinstalled it (both were the latest versions of flash) and it seems to have had no effect on stopping the crashes and hangs i get

disabling flash player seems to stop the problem (should do in theory, anyway). I've disabled it and haven't had any freezes or hangs ( as it should be expected) but videos still delay a bit before they actually play, they stream and stuff but just doesn't play instantly. could this be down to my internet (im using WiFi). i assume by disabling the flash, youtube is using html5? or this other plugin i have called "shockwave for director 12.1.4.154". either way, i'm glad it doesn't crash and freeze, but getting rid of that strange delay before the video starts would be amazing.

all the plugins i have on FF.
