Why should I allow a direct install from net as admin in my computer - rather let them give me the .msi or .exe. No direct connection to net as admin!
Should we encourage this philosophy of connecting to the net as administrator even for freeware? I don't know why Adobe insists on this? Why can't they simply give a .msi for install (maybe encoded with the mac address of the machine if they want to restrict secondary distribution? Why should the user face the threat of connecting his machine to net as a administrator with all the associated vulnerabilities?

I'm not sure we can help with philosophical questions about software distribution... but I thought I would mention that you can get a full installer for Flash from this page: https://www.adobe.com/products/flashplayer/distribution3.html
Probably doesn't help with updates.

Thanks for the link - it seems to have worked. Please do note that it is not just a dumb philosophical question (and it is hinted here expecting no answers anyway!)... Thanks for your time and help!
I'm not saying it's a dumb question, just that it's out of our bailiwick.
